Do I do Sports? Do I?

I went to the local grocery and a woman sparked up a conversation with me, and asked me if I did any sports. Just to be different I said no, I am too old and broken for that. She says to me, “You are never too old or broken. There’s this one woman who is 54 and para in a chair just like you and she rows across oceans. She just rowed from California to Hawaii this year.” I’m still laughing! I handed her a card and gave her a book for making my day.

Sledge Hockey Meets the NHL

Gatorade has a new commercial that has “aired” on the Internet featuring Cruisers Sports All Blacks Sledge Hockey team taking on NHL players.

“We introduced them to the world of sledge hockey to show them what we do,” said Karl Ludwig of the Ontario, Canada, sledge hockey team. And that’s exactly what they did.

“A couple of those guys skated circles around us and embarrassed us,” said Claude Giroux of the Philadelphia Flyers. “Literally circles,” added Scott Hartnell of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Most of the write-ups in the media regrettably talk about how “inspirational” the sledge hockey team is, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Cruisers All Blacks spilled NHL players on ice as if they were schooling a junior league.
