Winter Sports Clinic for Vets: March 29-April 3

Winter Sports Clinic

Hundreds of disabled veterans from around the country will gather this spring in Snowmass Village, Colo., to participate in the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic. While there, they will receive world-class adaptive winter sports instruction. The clinic will be held from March 29 to April 3, 2015 and is for U.S. military veterans and those in active duty who have disabilities.

The Winter Sports Clinic is the largest rehabilitative program of its kind in the world today. It utilizes adapted physical activities as well as workshops and educational sessions to aid in the rehabilitation of severely disabled veterans. “This is a life-changing experience. An opportunity to realize you’re not done, you’re not over and you’re not broken,” said Kristian Cedeno in a testimonial on the event’s website. Participants learn Alpine and Nordic skiing, rock climbing, scuba diving, trap shooting, curling, snowmobiling and sled hockey.

The Winter Sports Clinic is hosted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Disabled American Veterans. For more information please visit wintersportsclinic.org. This video gives a taste of what new participants may expect:
