My latest guilty pleasure is TLC’s “Long Island Medium.” It’s kind of embarrassing to admit, but if you’ve watched the show its easy to see why I‘m hooked. She’s a really cool lady with some creepily accurate abilities (and hey, she gives people hope that there’s something more than just existing here in the physical world).I’ve always wished for such an ability, pondering if anyone out there in a wheelchair, or anyone disabled really, was born with such a similar skill. And my question was finally answered today after I ran across Jessica Jewett’s site, a psychic medium with Arthrogryposis (a condition that causes joint contractures and muscle weakness) who lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jessica Jewett is one very interesting lady. As a “spiritual intuitive,” her expertise is in psychic readings (both in-person and online), tarot cards and past life regressions. In addition to being a medium, she’s also an artist and a novelist who’s written several historical novels, including one about her most transformative past life (she says she’s had several), which is called Unveiled: Fanny Chamberlain Reincarnated (when she lived as Fanny, the wife of Civil War General and Maine governor, Joshua Lawerence Chamberlain).
And what I really love about Jessica’s site is where she outlines all of the past lives that she’s had. Holy moly it’s an interesting read - a baby boy who died after 6 days in the 1950’s, a noblewomen from France in the 1700’s who was beheaded, a Mohawk woman from 900 AD….makes you wonder about your past lives and how they influence you now as a person with a disability.
I know, I know….you’re thinking this Jessica Jewett is a bit crazy. Maybe she is, maybe she's totally right…who are we to know? Personally, I'm not sure what I believe. I find Jessica fascinating and I love that she does all the things a medium does, public readings, tarot card readings (surely not easy with the kind of disability she has), even paranormal investigations, all despite the whole wheelchair thing.
I now have this burning desire to go ghost hunting with Jessica and talk about past lives over coffee. Gotta love the internet.
Do you believe in psychic mediums? Ever had a personal experience yourself?
