Accessible America Deadline is WEDNESDAY

How accessible is your town or city? If the curbs are cut, the parks perusable and the restaurants progressively accessible, then you might want to nominate your addy for the coveted NOD Accessible America award. If you win, your city gets $25,000 and you’ll probably get your picture taken with Ms. Wheelchair America 2009, Michelle Colvard. Check Colvard out on YouTube.

There’s only one catch: the deadline’s this Wednesday and you need a cover letter with your mayor’s signature. You’ll find all the info and forms at NOD’s website.

Previous Accessible America first-place winners include Houston, Texas, Berkeley, Calif., Cambridge, Mass., Irvine, Calif., Pasadena, Calif., Phoenix, Ariz., and Venice, Fla.
