I'm about to have my 23rd anniversary of living as a SCI. My butt is now so boney and painful to sit on. My max amount of time to sit on my Ride Design cushion is 8 to 9 hrs. In the past 3 yrs. I've dealt with 2 diff pressure sores and finally healed.
During that up and down time I lost muscle and weight all over.

What I'm wondering is if any of you SCI are with boney butts also. What type of cushion do you sit on and mattress you use?

I've got a comfortable air matt from Hill Rom. This week I was told I will have to return it and get a preventive matt which isn't air. Anyone lay on one and how is it? Medicare will not pay now that it's healed. The matt has helped my butt tremendusly and need it for life, but can't afford to buy.

I'd like to hear from other SCI.
