Hello all, this is my first post here.
My name is Robert S, Lancaster. I have been in a wheelchair for only a year now, a result of a stroke which has paralyzed much of my left side. Due to my left arm not working well, a manual wheelchair is problematic. Due to my size (6'1", 270 lbs.) I need a sturdy, good-sized chair. We ended up buying a Hoveround MPV5, which turned out to be a big mistake.
First, the positives: It is sturdy, and has a tight turning radius. The controls are pretty straightforward.
Now, the negatives: the captain's chair is hard and tilted forward a bit, often making me feel as though I will fall out of it. we have ordered a Roho cushion for it.
HOVEROUND'S CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABYSMALLY BAD TO THE POINT OF BEING ALMOST NON-EXISTANT. They seem to only want to sell you a chair. once you have bought it, they couldn't care less about you.
We are looking into other options now.
