That is only because in our current Western society our idealized physique is slim. Look at art through the ages, like Rubens. Tubbies all - that was the "in" look. Fashion and physique ideals are societial and change through out the ages.
I think for me it's more that women and men that are not somewhat physically fit seem to not take care of their bodies. It's not just about aesthetics but more importantly health.
I have a somewhat Rubenesque body type. Those women were shapely but not obese.
yes all that starving and vomitting does a body good.

We may be disabled but we still have sexual urges and a need for a loving relationship.
