Has he been seen by a urologist who's had experience working with SCI folks? My urologist was on top of that topic from day one when I began discussing with him sexuality following my injury.
I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done to cope with it. If he wants to father a child, there are other ways and means to extract the semen. If he just wants to ejaculate because us guys like to do that, then chances are he's out of luck. But the main question is how does he know he's ejaculating back into the bladder? What level is he and is he getting adequate stimulation that enables him to ejaculate?

Hmmm...Lets see... a sudden sensation of having an orgasm with no ejaculation or erection. I guess I'm having a hard time finding out what the problem is. I can think of a lot of things that could be worse.
From what I know retrograde ejaculation is when the cum goes into your bladder. I've heard that the stuff can be detected by checking the urine and if I remember correctly I read that they have tried to get some of the sperm out to see if it can get a lady pregnant. I'm not sure if there have been any viable children from it or not.
I know you said this quad dude didn't want kids, but that's what I've heard about it all.

Only about 6-8% of men with SCI ejaculate. Less than half of these have retrograde ejaculation. I can't believe there would be a urologist who would not know about retrograde ejaculation. It commonly occurs in AB men following prostate surgery as well.
Retrieval of retrograde ejaculated sperm for use in ART has been around for a very long time. I know that one man and his wife that I counseled about this, and helped to find a urologist for them to work with now have an 18 year old son who was conceived this way. It is not uncommon to be able to achieve a pregnancy if you have retrograde ejaculation and have a decent sperm count.

This is the internet, most medical information is now online just do some searching and be sure to check the sources. Having said that I recently discussed my sexual function with a doctor after having intense bladder spasms following the making of a video in December.
Not sure about the retro-ejac thingy though I dont cum every time I used to say that was the reason I didn't show any evidence of cuming after a lady polished my knob. "Yeah I came just inside baby"
You know women are sensative about things like that. Didnt want her to think she couldn't get me off.

a couple yrs ago i was snugglin w/ the lady i was seein @ the time when she sat up in bed as if id goosed her(a distinct possibility, i must admit) and hollered(she was native to alabama) "its blow job time!"...i didnt see any sense in arguing whether if that was standard or daylight savings blow job time  ...after awhile(said afterwhile in southern speak)...she bolted upright again & said "u lil chit,,,u came in my mouth"  ...well, how was i to know "that weird feeling" was what it was,,,i had not ejaculated in any manner since about 30 minz b4 i got brokened up ...and no woman has gone down there since then so i dunno if it was a fluke  ...more recently i was seeing a woman who knew all about making love to the sci man who gave me my first actual orgasm since the previosly mentioned AB experience  ...and she never laid a body part on my genitals...too bad there were so many "guests" living w/i her head (what is it w/ me and psycho women?"...as a rule i dont get explicit w/ my "love life" here cuz others here have much more experience but in this post i felt my 2 cents was relevant...now i'll go back to what happens in my bedroom stays there,,,at least @ this website

I'm a T-5 complete para and I can ejaculate but no longer have orgasms (no wonder I'm so hostile, right?) As far as info goes, in rehab an attempt by the VA to talk about sexuality issues with me was made but to be honest, I wasn't hearing it. I was still in a good deal of pain and just wanted to sit up and put my own pants and shoes on in under an hour. They did say I could talk about it later but I never did. Could retrograde ejaculation cause bladder infections?
I have not even had the sex conversation with any of my doctors so since the subject was brought up.
