xuxan~ Appreciate the ?'s I should ask. When you have never had one b4, you really don't know what to look for. I was looking on web at Pacer, but a store in my town sells Pride and I wondered if local service should be more meaningful

Skippy,
Where will you be using it? Scooters (as a rule) are difficult to maneuver inside do their large turning radius.
If it's for outside..grass, gravel, gardening, etc. I'd suggest the unit I bought in '01: a "Chauffer" from "Electric Mobility." Have replaced the batteries once in 4 years and she's like a truck! Full of leaves, dirt, etc. but super reliable!
Great for haulin' around outside. Inside? A power chair. Turn on a dime.

Skippy,
Regardless of what you get, try and insure it for "Replacement Value." I had a little Pride Rally Scooter I bought when I got the larger Chauffer.
The Pride was stolen off the back patio while I had it charging during the day! Some real scum bags out there.
Anyway, I had it insured for Replacement Value. What cost me $2000 in '01 was now worth $3000..the amount of the insurance check. That enabled me to purchase a power chair..which I should have gotten in the first place for indoor use.
