as you can see, the number of people requesting assisted suicide has stayed fairly constant every year since passage of the law. this undercuts the argument that numbers are growing.

even without the outlier the average time between request for lethal medication and suicide has averaged ~35-40 days. this undercuts your argument that suicides are impulsive. plus nobody ever called for medical intervention after lethal medication ingestion.

the majority of ppl were college grads, the overwhelming majority were in hospice care and had insurance, and they had all been diagnosed with end stage diseases.

as far as reasons given, i prefer to interpret as patients expressing their values.
