My first question is why - a loving mother doesn't out of the blue kill her child - they mention "lack of services" several times in the article and also that she was a loving, caring mother. I bet there was something else major going on here that is not in the article. Tragic situation.

And if you want to think in terms of finances - it costs more to put a person to death than it does to keep them incarcerated - that is unless they don't' take advantage of every appeal under the sun.
I'm sorry if I was coming off as a violent person, but I just get so sick when I read about things like this. It seems like in recent years when parents have killed their children *someone* comes along to try to find some oh-so-special reason it was justified. Parent's couldn't "deal", stresed out, or "not enough support". Always someone else's fault.
If life is better for her than death then we should make for damn sure people like her never get out of prison. But sometimes I have to ask, can you blame me or anyone else for feeling outraged enough to, at least initally, wish the murderers dead? Something to keep this from happening again.
