My pain management doctor has suggested an implant along my spine. It would work like a tens unit, conducting electricity to stimulate my nerves. Instead of the constant pain in my legs and feet, I'd feel a tingle or vibration controlled by a remote I would carry with me. I am 36 and have a very aggressive and painful form of relapsing MS. (I haven't seen much remission) has anyone here heard of this or had this done? My neurologist says is against the surgery because she wants to watch the progression of the lesions in my spine with MRIs and there are metal components in the leads that would prevent future MRI's. My pain is bad. I take 3600mg of neurontin and 3 to 4 - 5mg lortab a day. Any thoughts, comments, suggestions? Thank you. Ps I'm new here.

I am new here, just signed up tonight. First forum i looked at was this one. Seems like i am supposed to answer you the best i can. I do not have it, but a friend of mine from aqua therapy had one installed. He told me it helped a lot. He was glad he go it. That is the only one I know who got one. But he raved about it.

I have a friend that had one put in and he is like a kid with a new ball. of coarse each injury is different. Due to the spinal injury I have I don't qualify. But If your doc is wanting to try it, I would do it. I hope everything goes well. God Bless
