As a church employee, it pains me to say this, but Christians asked for all the disinterest and ridicule coming their way. They have never boldly stepped forward and led our country anywhere. They have waited for society to make changes, then bitched about them and tossed some condemnation about, and then, after discovering that their whining is costing them members and more importantly money, they go the direction that society at large chooses. They've done it with divorce, women's rights, racism, the Soviet Union, and now gay rights. The moral majority and religious 'right' appeared in the media with their smug superiority and self-congratulatory spokesmen. They proclaimed the monumental value of God fearing Christian leadership, created a huge voting block, and then gave us George Bush. NOTHING, absolutely nothing, was better or more Christlike because of their efforts. They thrust their superior point of view into the media and Americans with even the slightest modicum of discernment starting seeing the problems with the "Christian" point of view. Such as, being so worked up about saving fetuses but not providing homes to unwanted children and insisting upon sending our young men and women to die in war. Such as, refusing to respond to a global AIDS crisis because they were preaching that those with AIDS deserved to die. Such as, promoting men who were vehemently opposed to gay rights and getting c0ck in whatever manner suited them including exploiting young men from their own congregations DURING Church events, a la Eddie Long. A sad realization the church must be making is that people like honest, open, queers much better than lying, closeted, hypocritical ones, especially those who use their position of authority to exploit young males in their congregation.

You cannot thrust yourself into the media limelight, act holier than thou, draw undue attention to yourself, then act like bumbling idiots. With Evangelical insistence on budget straining wars and "Jesus wants you to prosper" sermons encouraging Christian greed, a case could be built that the "holy" among us are at least as responsible for the problems with the economy as the "sinful," if not more.

That, my dear friends, is how Christians are chipping away at the preferred status they enjoyed.

If you truly long to not have your points of view slammed or dismissed, I'd suggest that you use all your Bible knowledge and connection with God to show the way into the future rather than trying to drag us into the past.

I tried to make this one response but kept getting error messages. I think it's because I had a Jon Steward quote in the text. Who knows?

Since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations.

But, they are still doing it.

Christians. Oh yeah...and just plain ol good-hearted people ----like?....

And have you even looked at what Obama offers up in his health reform law?

Taxing em for it.

Have you read anything on what you've voted for?

I wonder, as his grammie or auntie I suppose it was got illegal govt housing here ...i WONDER if Obama ever stopped to think just how generous the USA is....to even let her continue living in the subsidized housing. charity begins in the house...the home...so they say.......O, the christian who left his church after how many years? because his true colors were shown.

I wonder if good ol Ghoti would like Obama to tax him for letting some poor stranger live in his house. He OUGHT to be TAXED. OBAMA SAYS SO.

I was thinking of the hypocrisy that made me pretty much look at PQ's membership (most of it) with total disgust.

I've a great memory for that.

I think a LOT of chatters who hit the board from the Patio or wherever it was came with WAR & HATE on their hands and then the poor posters who hadn't a clue about any damned chatroom activity that went on for years before they signed on here just got caught in the crossfires of TOTAL BULLSHIT.

skylark & wabi shit TOTAL BULLSHIT

devotee scared posters TOTAL BULLSHIT

posters demonizing religion in the manner (any manner) TOTAL BULLSHIT

alias posters outting alias posters ...*supposed* real posters Old as Shit (cbalt) claiming "you have to have respect for me cus I was here first"LMFAO TOTAL BULLSHIt

sorry..........no more time today!

There's no reason for shit like what gets said in this link I posted concerning facebook or as it concerns ANYWHERE else on the internet. Are you people REALLY like you post. sad

So if you hate PQer's why do you keep going back?... It's not that hard to quit it... Just close your account, delete the bookmark, and leave it alone... There, of course, will be a bit of gossip and speculation of you behind your back for a little while, but, sooner than you think, you're presence there will be but a memory... The same can be said for this board... Just find another, and leave us to our "TOTAL BULLSHIT"...

Oh yeah, you've tried that... Several times in fact, yet you keep coming back...

There can be one, two, or a combination of three explanations of why you can't resist coming back:
1) Too weak willed and paranoid to stay away for fear of what people are saying about you "behind your back"... (easily solved by "lurking" and not posting until you are no longer mentioned and then move on)
2) A false sense of self-rightousness or self-importance that we are lost and in need of your "guidance" to see the light... (which obviously isn't gonna happen as others can be just as stubborn in thier respective beliefs as you are in yours)
3) An emotional masocistic addiction where you need to manufacture drama to attain a center of attention to validate your existence and give yourself some sort of sense of worth or value that you fail to recieve from those closest around you... (seek counceling/therapy)

Whatever the reason, at least own up to it and move on...

The Boards are what they are, so you can either put up, shut up, or leave...

That is sad. I have great memories of the early days on the messageboard. I enjoyed the hell out of Jerome's offer to baptize you and I would get to be your witness. We all pretty much had fun.

Back then the spats didn't take over the board. People continued to communicate around it all. I think the attack on Sherry38 and her being driven from the board was the first drama that made an impact on all the members and created a division point. It's continued down from there.

It's been six years since people started moving to PQ. Let it go, Ronda.
