HI , My dad has got paralysis recently, so I need to buy wheel chair. I searched a bit abt it and found standing wheel chair will also be a good option. Presently I am looking for automatic wheel chair, which may get fold to put into a small car. I have no clue which companies are good. I am based in India. Can anyone give me idea of good wheel chairs and things I should keep in mind while purchasing a new one?

I don't know of any way to compare wheelchairs available in one country to those available in another. Your best bet is to seek advice from a physician, a physical therapist, and an occupational therapist if possible. Wheelchair sales people are probably the LEAST reliable (in my experience). Also check to see what insurance/health care can provide help with. If there is any way your father can get a free trial period for the chairs that seem most suitable for him, take advantage of it.
