SCI SINCE '99 HAD GASTRIC BYPASS 6 MONTHS B4 ACCIDENT. HAV NEVER HAD TO USE ANYTHING TO HAVE A DAILEY BM. APRIL 2010 I HAD HIPFLAP SURGERY AND WAS ON IV ANTIBIOTICS FOR 21DAYS.(I HAVE MRSA I GOT AFTER BACK SURGERY IN 2004) I GOT DIARRHEA AFTER FLAP SURGERY & THIS WENT ON WITH NEVER COMPLETELY EMPTYING AND THE CONSISTANCY OF PENUT BUTTER FOR ABOUT A YEAR. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I CAN NOT PASS GAS OR HAVE A BM. I PASS A MUCUS DISCHARGE THAT BREAKS ME OUT AND BURNS LIKE FIRE. I HAVE TO DO ENEMAS BUT MY FOOD PASSES UNDIGESTED. MY SPHINCTER AT THE TOP OF MY RECTUM WILL NOT OPEN CORRECTLY I WAS TOLD BI 1 GASTROETEROLOGIST HE SUGGEST A DO WARM WATER ENEMA DAILEY BUT I AM IN EXSCRUTIATING GAS PAIN. THE ONLY RELIEF I GET IS IMMEDIATLY AFTER THE ENEMA. I HAVE BEEN CHECKED FOR CDIF, CELIAK DIESEASE,PARASITES AND SEVERAL OTHER THINGS. ALL ARE NEGATIVE ANY SUGGESTIONS.THIS SAME DR THINKS I HAVE A PSEUDO OBSTRUCTION WHICH IS WHEN UR BODY THINKS U HAVE AN OBSTRUCTION BUT REALLY DON'T.
no there have been several test done since then,paracite,c-dif,colonostomy showed lazy colon,barium swallow w/ small bowel follow through was ok ,and ct scan that showed destended loops.The Dr. now has me doing a warm water enema daily. Everything I eat makes me feel like I have eaten Lima Beans but I can not pass the gas. When we do the enema we get stool the cosistancy of pea-soup.I have developed an absortion problem so I am now getting TPN through IV. When I try to eat it feels like I am stopped up, and my stomach becomes destended i look like I'm pregnant.
