Wow that little sucker plays the media thats for sure. Just my opinion as always but I am trying to figure out what does Newt want to get accomplished first by running and then second what would he want to do if he wins? I never believe what a politician says but more I look at what they have done.
I think he was going for popularity when he first began running. Newt now has cemented his name in the public consciousness not as a serial marryer but as a valid republican candidate plus he can name his price as far as further lobying and book sales.
But if he wins who is is going to dream about making happy? Like most republicans he has to play both sides. First he has to play the anti abortion and tea party folks, ie the poor south beause they are his voring base but he laso has to please the 1% and that means less regulation of business and taxes and further destruction of worker rights ie the unions.
If big money and not just the religious zealots think Newt has a chance they will poor money into this campaign and try and get the black resident out of the whitehouse.
But I think much of big business is fine with Obama and newts going to blow up all over the religous rights bowed heads!
Mr. Going-For-Popularity has wrapped up the black vote, the Mexican vote, and much of the youth vote (sickening to hear the video of his recent decent from heaven onto some campus I can't remember...he says to them, "You inspire me"...they laugh, he says, "Well....you DO!")
The religious folk....conservatives or liberals, mostly count him out cus he's Mormon, which is a shame but if yer all about religion then Fat Chance yer getting IN, Romney.
He's a very smart business man. What he would accomplish if he won is to take back Our country (turn the direction in which it is presently moving) from someone who has no love for our country, Obama.
Whether I'll vote for him or not...again, most anyone but Obama.

newt's got so much baggage i can't see him beating obama. can you imagine how his multiple marriages will resonate with the religious conservatives?
Don't forget that religious conservatives are also big on repenting of sins and being forgiven. Newt claims both and they seem to have accepted him at his word.

I find it difficult to believe that anyone orphaned as a child, raised by his single grandmother, eking by on food stamps much of the time, and yet intelligent enough to get a good education and become president would not love this country.
Makes for a nice story, what you said, paradocs. Prove any of it. I still find it sooo incredibly hard to believe that people voted for a man they didn't know a thing about and still don't. Here's something we do know: he loves his P's: Popularity & Power. His latest is to change the Executive branch by giving him more power. Lovely, he's skirted around the other branch of govt to do what he wanted so many times, and with the blessing of the liberals; I guess it's just not enough challenge for him, anymore, he's going to now focus on the Executive.

I never heard of the evangelicals forgiving Clinton of HIS sins....
republican evangelicals will not vote for a Mormon, not even hold their nose and vote for him because he is also very rich and not paid taxes so hes a bad guy...thats even worse than a black guy. Obama is a shoe in.........
