In September of 2010 Johnnie Tuitel of Grand Rapids, Michigan was removed from an airplane because he was determined to be too disabled to fly. He had been allowed to fly for many years, much of it related to his job as a motivational speaker. He had never been denied access to a flight before.

The Air Carriers Access Act is federal legislation that mandates how airlines accommodate people with disabilities. The challenge to victims of discrimination is that they unable to file a discrimination claim on their own behalf. The airlines can be fined up to 11 thousand dollars per discriminatory offense to be paid to the Department of Transportation. This has proved to be an ineffective deterrent for the airlines. Discrimination against people with disabilities on airplanes is a continuing problem that is not relegated to any particular airline.

Let 'Em All Fly is an effort to amend the ACAA on a grassroots level.
