Who the dickens is Hazel Dickens? It made me think of Hazel from that black and white tv family show I use to watch as a kid. The maid was named Hazel but the rest is kinda hazy. You read obits all the time from your local newspaper, too, docs? I find that kinda crazy but I have a neighbor who does it. She got the news of someone's death before their husband did..........started calling around about it and it was really ...really...bad form on her part when the husband came into the realization her obit had been printed already. He'd wanted more time before the news hit others. I think we should all just go out quietly...and in ashes, no burials. ~~

I read the obits from my local paper -- first to make sure my name isn't there and second to see if anyone I might have lost touch with over the years has died.

Different papers have different policies on obits. The local paper accepts area obits ONLY from area mortuaries and the mortuaries do not release them without family permission. Usually I hear that someone I know has died before I see it in print because in a small town like the one I live in, word of mouth is faster than word of print.

I mention in this section people whose talents have brought me pleasure over the years as away of saying "thank you" to them and to let any other fans they might have know of their passing.

Here is information on the Hazel TV show.
