OK. yes im going to talk about my ass again! i know what you're thinking, please control your exictment.
so im a 22 year old man who has CP and im learning to take care of my own toileting. i can manage getting on and off the toilet but i cant seem to reach my hand around to my bum to wipe it.
so i was wondering if anyone here had the same problem or knew of some sort of device to help?
One of those shower heads on a flexible hose could help if your toilet is near your shower. My toilet and shower are in the same area as I sit on the toilet to shower. The seat is "horseshoe" shaped so I can wash my crotch and rear. The shower drain also acts as an emergency drain in case the toilet runs over.
Maybe you can turn your toilet seat cut-out to the side. That's the way I do it. My cut-out is facing to the rt. and I use my rt. hand to do the dirty work.
I have seen a device that holds a piece of toilet paper, so you can wipe easily, if you can't reach to clean your bottom. Go to http://www.HDIS.com, and look under the personal care catalog section.
I realize this is an old post, but maybe this will be helpful to anybody else who stumbles upon it.
I've heard great reviews on this bidet. I've found it on Mobility Superstore first, so here's the link. Kind of expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for...
