I think I use one method that saves dollars. I can buy a $1 package of noodle Nissan or such quick fix package. I like the beef flavor but chicken is available as well. It is edible if prepared as directed but you can do much more with it cheaply.
This is how I do it. I begin by sauteeing a couple of sliced mushrooms (fresh) and a few onion sliced diced or chopped. Then I put on a pan of water (just enough to cook the noodles without any water being left when cooked), Then I scramble lightly one or two eggs and mix with the mushrooms and onion. Add the cooked noodles to lightly fry. Mix it all up and fry a couple of times. Salt and pepper to taste. put a few thin slices (small pices) of cheddar cheese and let melt. Stir it up and serve. Oh and I use my favorite oils to nsautee. This is a very filling and delicious concoction. There are enough dry packaged noodle types to keep you happily eating forever. Try adding a few thin slkices of celery also. I am still looking for various veggies to add to this mix. And also don't forget to add the little packets of flavoring to the noodles. I don't fry too hard but like the noodles to havesome light browning in the mix.
Let me know how you like it. I and my family are very happy with these dishes. You can also add meats to it for a different flavor, such as shrimp, hamburger etc. Paul
