Just a coincidence. A cell phone is just a hand held radio transmitter/receiver, and requires a network of towers to receive the signal, carry it, and send trhe reply back to you. Without the tower network cell phones are useless.
Even today there are lots of "dead zones" where your cell phone is out of range of a tower, and there were no cell pnone towers in 1928.

Kirk from the USS Interprise got caught in a time warp and was trying to contact the ship on his communication device. Kirk to Interprise, come in.

It's a tin can. Am I the only one who noticed the string?

A tin can? I doubt that.

It's a much better explanation than a cell phone! lol Maybe tin can communication was before your time...

I made a tin can "phone" when I was a kid! It worked, but only when the string was pulled really, really tight.

My best friend lived next door and we had the idea of running a string from his room to mine so we could talk back and forth in private. The tin can phone thing didn't work so we each saved up money until we could afford walkie-talkies.
Kids with cell phones these days have no idea how spoiled they are.

The video is creepy on many levels:
1. The papier mache zebra creeps me out.
2. You can see through the female character on the "phone" -- or so it seems.
3. The video's presenter looks like the mugshot of Jared Loughner.

Honest to God, I know that I have missed the level of my urologists' office when I try to get off on the floor below because that floor has a giant-size papier mache zebra in the corner (it is the eye doctors' offices). So, this is what I tell others who get confused all the time on the elevator: If you are on your way to the uro and you see a zebra on the floor, you haven't gone up high enough....
it somehow helps me, and I hope it helps others, too.

Have you ever imagined that time travel is possible?
Has anyone with the resources to work on the possibility of time travel ever put serious thought into it? Has it ever been attempted? If no, why do you think it has'nt been explored?
I think that time travel is possible. I base my belief on the Bible and not scientific evidence.
Genesis:11:6: And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

I'm not saying that there is a real time traveler in the Charlie Chaplin film. There's no way for me to prove, or disprove, anything like that.

Ronnie, how would someone use a cell phone in 1928 when there were no towers to carry the signal?

Wouldn't a "time traveler" on a cellphone be wearing today's clothing?
I'm just saying...
