Our daughter and her husband came over and taped it and uploaded it to Youtube. Son in law on guitar, Millie (wife) on bass and me on dobro and vocal. Think I am getting too old for this but finally got some music on YT. It is a song I arranged to perform at our church soon. Still need to work on it a bit yet. Paul
Paul, the dobro sounds fantastic! It has that full sound like my old Gibson Country and Western Special. Can't play it cause of my right hand quitting on me but I bet I could handle the bottleneck. What chord are you tuned to and what is your slide? I'm getting optimistic about this. When I couldn't do the finger picking I sort of quit. You all sound great despite the mike pickup. Thanks for that. Paul I.

Hi Paul, Thanks for the comments, on my guitar I put a string riser on the nut. Tuned guitar to open E chord so that a straight strum across the strings plays the E chord. A bottle neck might work ok, I use a Stevens steel bar and can hold it well in spite of my badly bent fingers. I use a thumb pick because my other fingers don't work. An acoustic guitar, or a sixstring steel lap guitar with an amplifier or any electric guitar works just fine. The neat thing about it is you can buy a guitar with a bowed neck which makes it very hard to play with the fingers and also makes it pretty cheap to buy also. The bowed neck won't affect slide playing at all. You really need to put a nut riser on though because the strings will buzz and rattle if you don't. Don't know how guys who play with fingers and a bottle neck slide avoid that problem.
Let me know if you have any questions. Be great to have another slide player around here. I also put little white stick ons for each chord up the neck. Helps keep track of where you are at. How long did you play guitar, Paul?
