An we are supposed to trust big business to regulate themselves? The Rebublicans have fought every piece of legislation proposed by the Dems was opposed or belittled so the Repubs can get back the House and Senate and undo as much regulation as is possible. The right wing would love to have "free range" legislators to deregulate all business so as to roam free and plunder as much unregulated money as possible.

I said it before, if Repunlicans were in charge in Chile the 33 miners would never have been rescued. It would be every man for himself.
Just think of all the money that could have been saved if Repulicans, not Democrats had been elected. Although GM and Chrysler would no longer exist, thousands of teachers, fire and police workers would not be working. Many, many more people's life savings would have vanished as more wall street investment banks would have been allowed to fail.
