"It sounds so good, and it's such a warm message to say we're not gonna deny anyone from a pre-existing condition. Look, I think that sounds terrific, but I want to ask you something from a common sense perspective. Suppose we applied that principle [to] our property insurance. And you can call your insurance agent and say, 'I'd like to buy some insurance for my house.' He'd say, 'Tell me about your house.' 'Well sir, it burned down yesterday, but I'd like to insure it today.' And he'll say 'I'm sorry, but we can't insure it after it's already burned.' Well, no pre-existing conditions."
A fellow in Phoenix needed a bone marrow transplant to save his life. This week they finally found two matches. On Friday the Governor ended the State's coverage of transplants.

"...only the shadow knows"
Hi, I am new to NM and have really enjoyed reading through the posts. Seems to be a lot of good people here. The conversations like on other sites don't seem to always revolve around our disabilities. Just normal everyday happenings.
Only reason for introducing myself in this topic was brought on by recent comments that I read on facebook. They really threw be for a loop. The discussion was on political views. After reading the comment stated by Hucabee and the the comments stated by repubs. on facebook. The first thing that popped into my head was that they do resemble Nazism characteristics. Really burnt my a$$. In all of the years that I have worked before and after breaking my neck, I've never had a harsh word or thought about anyone that receives welfare or any kind of assistance. For me it is the humane thing to do. It just amazes me how selfish people are.
I apologize for ranting on my first post here at NM and hope to make friends. Y'all appear to be a great bunch people.
