Okay, maybe... here's a list of medications that can cause it. Maybe MrD is taking one, or more?

Certain medications can promote breast growth. They interact with the natural levels of testosterone and estrogen, and upset the balance in some manner. Gynecomastia is a common consequence of estrogen treatment in patients with prostate cancer. Drugs that may cause gynecomastia include:

Hormones (androgens, anabolic steroids, estrogen agonists)

Antiandrogens or androgen-synthesis inhibitors

Antibiotics (isoniazid, ketoconazole, metronidazole)

Anti-ulcer medications such as cimetidine

Cancer chemotherapeutics, especially alkylating agents

Cardiovascular drugs, such as captopril and digitoxin

Psychoactive agents, such as diazepam and tricyclic antidepressants

Recreational drugs, such as alcohol and marijuana

Penicillamine

Alcohol and drugs can cause gynecomastia by mimicking estrogen and stimulating androgen production. Steroids and other excess androgens are sometimes converted by the body into estrogens and consequently cause male breast problems.

To reverse breast growth, it may be possible to change medications.

How/What does he eat?
Fast food every day?
Candy(bars)every day?
Ice Cream every day?

How old is he? <--I ask this question because it could be harder for him to lose the weight. He doesn't look much older than me.I'm 30.

Well eating "crap" isn't too bad unless he is eating it every day.Maybe if you can convince him to cut back on it to once a week or if your lucky every other week that could work.

Chips are ok but not like a half or whole bag in one sitting.

Does he eat alot of fast food?
That can also be a big problem.

Does he have someone up there to cook for him?

Have you also talked him into trying the exercises yet?

I can understand if it's not only just being lazy to cook but also some frustration to deal with the stove. And that is if he even has one. Some people don't,believe it or not.

How were things done for him over here before he moved?
I assume the two of you didn't live together?
What was his purpose for moving?

he hasnt moved. hes been living in canada his whole life. we still dont live together. i live in cali, and am trying to make the move up there to the great white north. its been a pain in the ass tho lol ughhh. it mainly boils down to hes lazy as all get out. hes not a fan of the stove, but more than anything hes just not a fan of cooking or eating healthy or anything else that involves effort. hes pretty capable physically and chooses to be lazy. makes me nuts.

LOL we cant change anybody...........we either accept them the way they are or we dont.....but thinking they would be great if only they had a car or a boob job for instance is setting a relationship up for failure.

How often do you two get to see each other?

When you two are together do you cook for him and does he eat what you do cook for him or is he real picky about what he eats other than just eating junk food?

How long has lived alone?

Does he have family that lives up there?

You are right Foghorn you can't change someone completely but you can change someone's ways just enough to where that person lives a little better and a little healthier.

we try to see eachother every other month if not sooner. its hard money wise tho, and leaving my lil one at home for a week at a time strains the options too. and yes he does eat what i cook for him, but refuses to take care of himself while im gone. which makes me angry. like HI WE ARE TOGETHER I CARE ABOUT U PLZ TAKE CARE OF URSELF ... yanno? bleh. hes lived alone for bout 8 yrs.. he has a roomie, but he doesnt cook for him most of the time, his roomie doesnt push stuff like that on him, and the mr wont request it. the only family he has truly nearby to him is an aunt he isnt too close to. its just very irritating to have to live so far and not be able to help the way i want to. he accepts my help happily, but wont help himself succeed.

That can't be good when his Aunt is the only family near by and they are not all that close to each other.

In a way I can relate to what you are going through with him.I have had my wound going on 8 years and I tend to not do what I have to and stay off of it.Even when I get mad at myself and when my friends and family ask me "Why are you not healed yet"?.

I'm working on it.It will be heald by next year I hope.I am healthy other wise.

See if you can convince his roomie to cook for him more. That might work.

A medicine ball should also work. He could lie on a bed or floor and lift the ball like he is bench pressing. If he has trunk control he can also lift it over his head while seated to work his abs and shoulders. If he doesn't have trunk control he could probably still do that, but you would need to strap him to the chair.
