Somehow, I was not surprised....
Washington, D.C. -- Atheists and agnostics, Jews and Mormons are among the highest-scoring groups on a new survey of religious knowledge. They outperformed evangelical Protestants, mainline Protestants and Catholics on questions about the core teachings, history and leading figures of major world religions.
These are among the key findings of the "U.S. Religious Knowledge Survey," a nationwide poll conducted by the Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion & Public Life from May 19 through June 6, 2010, among 3,412 adults.

I'm not surprised either. Christians who are "cradle fill-in-the-blank" tend to not know as much about their denomination as those who transfer in. Especially people who attend the same church all their lives. They tend to believe what their congregation believes and are not exposed to the big picture of their denomination. Growing up if a new preacher brought in "new fangled ideas" ie, tried to expand the knowledge base, he tenure was short. It has been my experience that not many people want to move beyond their comfort zone.

No wonder you're so narrow minded.
I sure am glad the people I associate with live their life from the opposite perspective.

Best not to grab at every new doctrine blowing in with the wind but to remain firmly anchored in God's word and to build your spiritual life on the rock of Christ Jesus only. Any other way is folly. Paul

Not a theory Flicka, it is anchored solidly in scripture for those who will see. Better tie back your pigtails, could happen anytime! :-) Paul

it isn't at all, Paulwa, but you'll never admit that. I've posted many links in the past proving that but I'm sure you never read them. You just keep repeating your opinions and beliefs over and over but refuse to give any evidence supporting them.
It's quite obvious that you aren't here to learn anything from any of us and we all stopped giving you any credence a long time ago.

Not a theory Flicka, it is anchored solidly in scripture for those who will see. As solid as the theory of gravity?

Ghoti I gave the backings for my belief with scriptures and other leaders opinions a few years ago but I won't do it again. It was pretty thorough. God made gravity and He can control gravity for those He choses, Flicka. Gravity is not a factor for the rapture. The rapture is only of significance to those who will participate. It doesn't exist for any other belief. I doubt you will even miss us because the cover story will be accepted by all. It will not affect any who are left on this earth. You will have your own reality to live with.I am tired of talking about it any more. Whether you believe it or not means nothing to me, I have my own eternity to look forward too. Paul

If you & Millie drive off a cliff in your RV, but your bodies are not recovered, everyone who knows you will suspect the rapture. I, for one, will then check on the rest of the rapture Christians I know to check the facts.
I am tired of talking about it any more. Are you? Paul, I've never known you that you haven't talked about it. I can't see you tiring of it.

Well I am, got more things to do and think about, besides Jesus said in a time you think not the Son of Man cometh. Course I don't think he said that to His church but more to the people coming out of the tribulation period maybe.
Just saw a scripture today from the book of James that made me stop and think. Hadn't thought about it before. I think it was James chapter 4 that says 'If you are a friend to the world, you will be an enemy to God.' Of course I think He is saying that if you join the worlds view and lifestyle then you will be bound by a sinful life and at odds wth God's holiness and cleaness. Don't you think that would make you God's enemy? Interesting. Paul

Don't you think that would make you God's enemy? Interesting. I think being a part of the internet is definitely a joining of world views and lifestyles. Do you consider participation on it being bound by a sinful life?

bogus, "joining" is the operative word here, I actually respect Paul for be willing to "join" in the discussion, without "joining"

I believe Scripture speaks differently to each individual person.
If that's your interpretation, then likely that's what God seeks to deliver to you. Roll with it, Paul.
But don't expect everybody to see it exactly as you have. God will have a different message to them through those exact words.
