Has anyone else ever had something called a "nuisance wound?" It's a microscopic opening on a scar that only drains a small amount of fluid for no apparent reason. my surgeon says there is nothing that can be done about it unless it gets worse and opens up into an actual sore.

My question is, how long does it take for something like that to heal on its own and is there any treatment for it to keep it from getting infected, although the surgeon says it may never get infected?

I think I know what you mean.I never asked or showed my doctor on the little "wounds" like that but what I do is "soke" one side of a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and rub it on the wound a few times. It will drain a little bit, just dab it with a tissue.

I do it after washing up in the morning and just clean it again at night and rub it again with alcohol.Leave it open and it just dries up in a couple of days.
