Is it coincidence that pan carries a pipe, a "panpipe", also known as a syrinx. From the word syrinx we get the word syringe. I wonder if there's any kind of a connection there.

Pan was the Greek god of the woods and fields. He did play a pipe called a Syrinx, which was named for his lost true love.
Since Greek culture dominated most of the eastern Mediterranean during the period the Old Testament was written, it's hardly surprising that the Jews of the time disparaged and demonized the Greek gods. They were the main competition at the time.

Aren't Ares and Mercury a couple of other names that satan has masqueraded about the world using? Yeah,,,,they are.
And yet NASA has named their rocket programs and vehicles to them by name.
HEY! I just had a thought. I wonder if that Jack Parsons fella' left any kind of a legacy?
I guess it's just a mystery. I wonder if there are any clues.

Ronnie, you've got to remember the history of early Christianity. It was only a tiny oppressed minority religion up until Emperor Constantine converted in the 4th century. Christianity then came to be the official religion of the entire Roman Empire.
Up until that time the Empire had followed a Pagan religion with multiple gods and goddesses, and Jupiter as the king of gods. The areas controlled by Rome, including most of Europe, followed a variety of Pagan faiths and the Romans had pretty much allowed these people to continue with their local beliefs.
When the Roman Empire embraced Christianity all that changed. The new faith was imposed on everyone under their control, and that meant the Pagan beliefs had to go. One major way that was done was by demonizing the Pagan gods.
That's where the notion that Pagan gods were actually Satan in disguise originated, and you seem to have swallowed that propaganda hook, line, and sinker.

Why do you only quote the Old Testament? We are under the New not the Old. Your fixation on the Old Testament for someone who claims to be a Christian is troubling.

According to the Bible Jesus is God, and God is jealous and won't put up with the worship of any other. This includes the religion of the Wiccans, God is vexed by them. God will not show them any pity on judgment day, and I won't pat them on the back and tell them that they're okay, because they aren't okay. They are in a lot of trouble and they teach others that it's good to follow them. Follow them straight to hell. Nope, not this guy. And I'll warn as many as will listen away from them.

Tolerance? Jesus didn't tolerate any nonsense and He's about to show this world, Wiccans included, just exactly what He is about. And He isn't a joke.

you do realize that's not the behavior of an omnipotent deity, that's the response of a spoiled child throwing a tantrum when he is not the center of attention.

No. What I realize is that God is the law giver. What God says goes and anything that goes against the laws set by God is only creating chaos. I realize also that men are God's creation and men do not fear Him as they ought to do. Men are selfish beasts who refuse to pay homage to their creator and instead create their own gods to serve. Men trample on everything that's holy and they curse God day's without number.

if your god were truly omnipotent then why would he feel threatened by humans not paying homage? is he insecure?
