According to the Bible there were many people who qualified as prophets in the old days. It happened lots and was very well documented. Many Bible scholars say the time of the prophets is over.

But what exactly is a prophet and how would we recognize one in the modern world? The Bible gives a clue when it tells us the way to recognize false prophets is that they make predictions that don't come true. That implies that a true prophet makes predictions that DO come true.

Is anyone doing that today? Certainly not some prominent religious leaders since many of them have made predictions that haven't come true.

But there actually are people who make predictions that come true constantly. They come up with findings and new products that many people consider miraculous and they've been doing it for many, many years now.

We call them "scientists". IMO God may well be inspiring them and giving them the power to improve the world as proof of his existence.

If that's true then the task for a person in the modern world who wants to know the creator would be to try to keep themselves as well-informed of the findings of science as possible. That's what I believe, and I'm trying as best I can to hold true to it.

Scientist and false scientists who are out to disprove their creator..but otherwise I find no fault in your statement Ghoti except Prophets are spiritually tied to the creator who creates their even being a prophet to spread Gods message to a peoples or individual. Don't think science of the physical world are His prime importance of message. Buit He did say knowledge would increase greatly before the coming day of the Lord and judgement and the end of the age. Just my thoughts and opinions.

Who can tell where scientists get their insight that inspires them to make new discoveries and inventions? When those things lead to improvements in the human condition and new understanding of the workings of the universe, then IMO that's evidence that the creator may well be behind it all.

Most religious people accept the findings of science without seeing them as being counter to their beliefs. Only the most diehard Biblical literalists feel that their beliefs are being undermined, and most of it all boils down to how you define the word "day" as it appears in Genesis.

The strict young-earth Creationists say their interpretation shows the earth to be only 6000 years old while many findings of science from multiple disciplines put it at close to 5 billion years old, and that's a the core of all the controversy. Other than that, what has science ever come up with that religion is uncomfortable with?

Better created by God than a muscinage blob without a brain. Can't see how anyone with a useable brain could see mankind with its extreme complexity ever evolving bit by bit and cell by cell. Personally don't believe that there has ever been only a lowly yet extremely complex cell ever evolve by chance. Everyone will be totally suprised and ashamed at this belief of Godless evolution, when God explains it all soon.

True there may be a few whom He will choose to just dispose of without explanation. Maybe...

We don't. How else do you explain the large % of members of religions who accept evolution?
