I'm dealing with ANOTHER sore and am looking for a chair that reclines and elevates the legs. I've read up on Permobile and Redman. Both offer the standing position as well, but I haven't stood in 21 years and am concerned about weight bearing. Any advice?
I have a pronto surestep. It's a motorized that tilts back so your face is literally facing the ceiling and all your weight is on your back and shoulders. It tilts as much or as little as you want. No standing position though. Hope that helps!
P.S. I got the chair for the exact reason you are looking for yours and it works great.
I am a C5/C6 quad and I have used a Permobil standing wheelchair for almost 5 years. It has made a big difference in my life and I wrote on my blog site about my experiences using a standing wheelchair. Feel free to read it. http://www.disabledandproductive.com/art...pressure-sores/
Try the J-2 gel cushion its 4 inches thick and will work on any chair my son does recline every 20 mins for 2 min at a time so even til you get a new chair seeif anyone can help you recline manually
have you been pressure mapped for your sitting positon out of curiosity. I use a Roho cushion because it's the one that bests accomodates my very strange and bony butt structure. A pressure mapping session could help you get a customized cushion and prevent pressure sores in addition to the tilting chair
