For the last two or three years my arthritis has been moving into remission and could walk without canes or shoulder crutches and walk for twenty minutes or so without any aid and without a lot of pain in my knees. Well for the last three weeks I have been getting knee pain back and yesterday was moving so slow and painfully I had to get out one of my shoulder crutches to be able to get around the house. Sure drags a guy down to see things going the other way again. :-( Just wonder what my future is going to be? I hope this is only temporary. Paul

I have been kind of downhill for the last couple of weeks or so, Lola..it is hard for me to pin it down to what causes my problems. I et the broken rib is tough to deal with ontop, huh? Wow. At least all my bones are solid so far. Get well soon. Paul

i have osteoporosis, so it's easier for my bones to break ( thank you, quadriplegia ) . this rib has been putting me to the test on how much pain i can put up with...
how has the weather been where you live, paul? don't you think weather plays a role in the RA flares?

I haven't really been able to tell but it seems excessive temps hot or cold does seem to make me feel worse and maybe even high humidity. Our temps this year have swung back and forth. Cold one day and have to run the A/C the next few days. It is crazy. Paul

Painkillers doesn't seem to work for me. I have incredible painfull kneejoints as well as avascular necrosis of the hip. What works is good food and stretching out my legs on an ottoman so the muscles can relax. Would like to try weed sometime. Scared of putting on weight though. Deo

I think weed or marijuana would react like most pain killers in that it just abates symptoms without any action at all on the underlying cause. Of course if it works even in that respect to relieve pain then it should be worthwhile..unless for some it becomes addictive and requires more and more to achieve any affect. I have never used it though so only know what I read. Paul

Paulwa, At this stage there is nothing that can be done for the underlying cause. I just want relief sometimes. I tried that cobratoxin oral spray and gel but didn't work. I think most of those homeopathic drugs are just snakeoil. Deo
