Any fans of Glee out there? You may especially enjoy tomorrow's episode as Zack Weinstein, a C5/C6 quad, will appear on the show.

He also did this interesting interview on NewDisability where he explains what it felt like when he got the call telling him he got the part on Glee, to talking about his feelings on non-disabled actors being cast in disabled roles. He seems like a very cool guy.

I am looking forward to watching it!

I was initially disappointed that they had not cast a disabled actor to play Artie as the paraplegic in the cast. Then after this week's episode on May 18 where Artie, encouraged by his girlfriend to think about his dream of being a dancer, has a dream sequence in the mall where he stands up and starts dancing in a great flash mob scene, made sense to me why he was originally cast. His meeting later with the school counselor, about all the advances in stem cell research has him believing he will walk again soon, is treated truthfully and respectfully.

I was not sure if the episode where Rachel meets the quadriplegic who once had a dream of singing had cast someone who was not actually a quad. It felt real, and I'm glad to read that they did in fact cast a disabled actor to play that role. When he asked her to hold his hand, and she did, and he said he didn't feel it, but he felt like it did, really broke me up.
