Ha ha...You didn't know Obie was a liar? Welcome to the club of democrats who are just finding him out. We got a sh*t load of subversives running our country but we can root them out and send them packing soon enough. And when we dowe need to run a jury of americans to punish them for their attempts to destroy us, though they just wanted to make us socialist all the way. Even the russians are lookng at us in disdain these days for being so foolsh! Well, sorry but I have to let off a little pressure from time to time or I might explode. Paul

though they just wanted to make us socialist all the way. How does unregulated capitalism lead to complete socialism?

Correct. He wants regulation on the financial institutions. So, how does that lead to socialism?

Paul, sometimes I wish I could view things from your simplistic "Beck" perspective but in the real world the path forward has many side trails and obstacles that must be met and overcome.
btw do you even know what a derivative is?

Well some control over those greedy cheating bums is necessary but Obie is into everything and if he continues he is gong to spend us into bankruptcy.,..but I don't think China and Japan will stand still for it. Obie wants total socialism and if he s successful in achieving this it will destroy America culturally, economically and slide us under the thumb of Global governmental control. Well I think America is headed for a fall and I don't think she will be saved (at least according to how I see prophecy). (Oh god! there he goes bring in that mythological book again!!!) I don't know how people can see all Obie does and not fear what he is doing to our country (Yes the Bush's did continue that progressive Globalyst momentum,) but Obie will sink our ship of state in the end. I don't want to talk about it any more. Paul

I know derivatives has caused a lot of troubles to our economy because of a bunch of finaggaling bastards in the stockmarket. I pulled all of my money out of the stockmarket and was ahead of the game before it headed south. I wouldn't put apenny into it again it is just a slot machine for most people. derivatives is just a way for slime in the market to twist money out of the sheeps pockets without a mask and a gun! I don't know how people can see all Obie does and not fear what he is doing to our country
Because we aren't making it up, we are actually paying attention to what he's doing. You...you see a thread about financial regulation and think it has something to do with a socialist agenda...even if you can't explain how it is related.

Greg -- please use a different (smaller) photo of Palin, please?
That one is making my eyes bleed and forcing me to scroll sideways to read Flicka's responses.
Thanks!

Well, the Republicans managed to hold back debate on bank regulations, so I guess you got your way? Why did you disapprove of this besides how much Obama was going to spend?

Don't think our president has anything to say about capitalsm and how banks are run or any other industry. Congress and law should go after all broken laws in all industries, not the president. President should uphold our constitution and run our country in the black not the red! Paul

If Reagan was able to deregulate banks, shouldn't Obama be able to suggest regulation?

do you even watch the news? Congress, the lawmakers, were blocked from debating possible improvements in the screwed up rules and laws governing how Wall street works.
Make up your mind will ya? You complain about Obama's heavy handed approach and then your ilk whines when Obama delegates responsability to senate and the house.

Looks like the republicans backed off and the bill on financial reform is going to pass. They must have seen that their position was a loser in the polls and reversed direction.

That was the most self-defeating position I've ever seen. I cannot imagine what purpose they thought it would serve to not even allow discussion. Who is calling the shots in that Party? Believe me, I don't want to see the republican party hit the skids, and they seem to be skating too close to ridiculous lately. Not good.
