Boy you got that right Ronda! :-)Wonder what happened wiith Ron? Did he just quit posting all of a sudden? Yeh, I miss Wabi too. He was no worse than many others here on this board. think Emma needs to chill and she probably knows she reacted on the spir of the moment at Wabi's helpless interdiction. I think Greg had it coming because I saw Greg bait and goad Wabi into a fiasco when Wabi wanted to avoid it. At least that is my take on it. I don't know what storm they had going between each other but we all sure didn't need to be dragged through the muck and mire of it all.

You have a unique take on things. Wabi and I have being going at it for a long time. I had it coming? Yet I am still here. You and Wabi both share the inability for meaningful interspection which allows your god complex to overwhelm the ability of objective analysis.

Why did you not just shut up when Wabi said he didn't want to discuss further...you didn't but just kept attacking him. Now I don't know your motivation but it looked to me like you were just egging him on and wouldn't take no for an answer. I am not standing up for Wabi because I don't know what you two had to fight about, but I do know you would not allow him to just turn and walk away so iin my eyes you are to blame for all of this hullabaloo! Wabi should have kept his mouth shut when Emma was present and slapping you guys hands but I think he was sooo pissed at you that it just popped out. I thnk from what I have seen you are just as guilty as he.

Things don't just pop out when you have to type & submit written responses.

I'm sorry to hear that, Paul. I admit that I've typed many responses that I didn't submit. For me, being allowed a moment to examine my motive and reaction is all it takes to realizes that I'm being an ass.

Wabi did himself in with his "street tough" attitude. His motto was ALWAYS an eye for an eye and if he sensed any criticism or attack he couldn't resist making a nasty comeback.

When Greg posted that he was planning to leave Wabi couldn't resist a parting shot and that's what got him banned. If he had just kept quiet or said something like "sorry to see you go" there's a good chance he'd still be posting here but he couldn't hold back.

"Turning the other cheek" when you're attacked or insulted seems to be one of those things most Christians find nearly impossible to follow.

No, that kind of attitude I can live with and play within the lines.

Wabi's motto:
"He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue."

and he was proud of it. Inevitably leads to ratchetting up of the debate.

He couldn't take a punch without retaliating at a personal level.

Then maybe you should have (looong ago) gotten on others' asses about how they use the old excuse of: It was a kneejerk reaction I had!

;( sadly, when you've got the back's of others covered to your liking, others....miss...the boat, and They hear about it. All your 'I am impartial and fair to others was crap....long...long ago, flicka. And the 'clickish' attitude that has always sustained itself here and Certainly on 'the other board' has RUINED a spontaneous fair-play board.

have fun

LOL, Ronda. As usual you are unable to discuss something like an adult so you resort to childish name-calling.

Wabi and I had many hundreds of exchanges over the years here and we were able to stay mostly civil even though we disagreed. He was an intelligent debater and I'll miss our discussions, but the bottom line is that he hung himself.

BTW, how can you be sure that I'm not really Paradude or Wabi or "I" or Sisyphus or Michele or Yosemite Sam? I might even be ALL of them.

Because it has always been "clickish", this has never been "a spontaneous fair-play board."

I really don't ever remember claiming that. I DO remember saying that I posted in my own best interest. Seems to me it would be really stupid not to.

Cliques of one sort or another have ALWAYS been a part of NM for as long as I've been around here. Every time anyone speaks favorably or in support of another they get accused of belonging to one.

Sure, but if they came back tomorrow, you'd be back in the clique.

I don't see that as a bad thing. Do you?

The banning of Wabi raises interesting questions for each of us as to how we handle harassment, criticism, disagreement, etc. with any particular member. It's a study of how a virtual life can morph into a real life. I'd like to see The Fifteen return. Their responses were civil and thoughtful. They were Wabi's alter ego.

I agree. I also don't see our agreement with others a bad thing. Somehow being in agreement with others has become a thing of shame and called a clique here. Too bad people actually buy into that reasoning. Suddenly everyone needs to be a 'maverick' and spend their time pretending to not agree with others? (OR, not...depending on what game we are playing.)

Screw that. I agree with whoever says Obama is doing a damn, fine job with what he has to work with. He's the bomb.

I've always found that I learn more from civil discussions with people who disagree with me than those who agree. I find it fascinating that people can look at the exact same set of information and come to completely different conclusions.

Just goes to show how our various life experiences guide our thinking on so many things.

I think God created so many versions of man and amazingly we all look much alike but wth some things that make each of us unique. When God seperated mankind at the tower of Babel he just flicked a switch in mans brains and created a pattern in the brain that took the universal language and changed it so many languages appeared. They all sound different but they are when filtered properly all the universal mother tongue. We all tend to see things from a slightly skewed perspective, thus think differently and have slightly different conclusions of a fact. We are quite an ant farm to God but with a huge meaning and end goal that only He knows how it will all finish up. But all things turn out to the good for those who love God.
Paul
