Just got to make a quick comment because I believe and know this has to be true. All the heavy rains, floods, snows, tornado's, hurricanes, volcano's and earthquakes (some of these things yet to come) are a direct result of our negatiive treatment of Israel. We have an admiinistration who is agaiinst Israel so we better go into defending ourselves from all the bad weather and things coming our way. Don't flame me but just keep watch at what we do to Israel and the weather/disater results America receives.
My final word on this. Just watch..we don't need to discuss this..just my opiinion.

Think about something long enough, hard enough and you will bring it to fruition. That's what's disrupting weather, earth, etc. People are uneasy, scared, belligerant, angry, etc. today. That mind set is creating the chaos.

Oh yes Paulwa that's so true ............... proving something. I "prove it to myself", and try to stay away from conventional explanations (religious doctrines, for example, all of them). The "knowing within" is the correct answer, the God answer (yes with a capital G), the Supreme Being answer, whatever. Getting bogged down in religious disagreements and the like, in my experience has never been of benefit to anyone..........least of all me.
For me, "I know". It's a very eastern philosophy explanation.

We had the warmest March ever (almost 10 degrees above normal), our snow is nearly all gone, and it's 75 degrees and sunny right now. This is the earliest and warmest spring I can ever remember and we've set many records for all-time daily highs.
We must be doing something right here in Yooperland since God sure is smiling on us lately.

It snowed 30 minutes away from our house yesterday !! A couple of inches!
It's all melted now, and the sun is out. But it's barely above 60 here at home ...

See how we been treating Israel since Obiie came into office and changed our Israel support..Man the weather and disasters have really stepped up and I think will only get worse this year. The big oil platform fire with deaths and now oil is headed for shore, tornado's tearing up people and their homes with major flooding everywhere, coal mine blowups and my guess for hurricanes and earthquakes s that they are on the way. The new way we have been treating Israel forcing them to give up land and Obie wants Israel to give up Jerusalem (the apple of God's eye!) Man! Trouble is coming! God has cursed those who treat Israel badly and whether you believe this or not. Just watch the troubles America is going to have fall on her and its people in every way. Our border is broken we are inundated with people looking for a better life..however when all these bad things happen to America they may go home and stay away indroves. The Arabs and other countries who finally attack Israel will be destroyed supernaturally and will actually begin warring against each other. Tough times are going to only increase in the future along with weather, pestilances and diseases, sunami's, earthquakes and volcano's and who knows what all. People and vegetation around the world are going to be destroyed. Animals will turn on man as they already have begun too.
This is what the bible says will happen to those who treat Israel badly. Not my words, bible words from God.

Paulwa, I don't see any evidence of Obama "treating Israel badly". Asking them to reconsider things like building settlements in Islamic territories hardly amounts to mistreatment, especially when you look at how much foreign aid we give them.

Much of Israel support for arms has been given to
Muslims instead and this s a fact. Also the land Israel has was originally all theiirs and to boot they won much of it back in battles. Obam has been pushing Israel to split up Jerusalem from what I have understood, and this wll not ever happen. He is wanting them to stop their building program and this will not happen either.
We have been treating Israel much more badly than ever before, Ghoti and now the UN is out to punish Israel for war crimes when they were just defending themselves from attacks on them by Muslims. Israel is getting the short end of the stick all the way. God sad it would be this way but payday is here and on the way!

Still say much of america's catastrophes is because of the way we have been treating Israel, yes I think that includes oil blowouts in the gulf. There is a definate curse on those who treat Israel badly. I know it is just bible mythology to most of you but it is bible and for those of us who believe it is the infallible word of God it is pure truth, that we suffer because of bad treatment of Israel. They don't need anyones protection because God is taking care of the core remnant of His chosen ones. There are many people who claim to be Israelite but God knows His own.
Anyone hear about the perfect storm from the surface of the sun that may happen 2012? God talks about signs in the sun and moon and the heavens in the last days.Yes I know it looks like everything is going to go bad in the last days, doesn't it. Sure looks to be on schedule..now got to go, having mushroom soup and crackers for dinner and Mllie should be bringing it in to me in a few minutes. Yumm!!

Paulwa, I don't know where you get this stuff. The US is one of Israel's strongest allies and has been from the beginning. Most of the rest of the world is condemning them over the Gaza debacle, and we're pretty much the only country defending them.
Without our help the Arabs would have driven the Jews out and retaken Palestine many years ago.

We have been twisting arms to get Israel to give up land which is directly against what God says in the bible. I know we support Israel but Obama has been steering more towards aid to Palestinians than Israelites since he took office. Thiis is why God has backed off His protection for America and we have been deluged with bad weather and all sorts of catastrophes In my opinion. Looks like we are in for more trouble down the way IMO also.

So we're getting bad weather because we don't support Israel strongly enough, even though we are by far their biggest supporter in the world? Why isn't God sending even worse weather toward Europe, since their support for Israel is much weaker than ours, or even more so the Arab nations that have sworn to destroy them?
Were those 16 people who died in the flood in Arkansas all folks who were against Israel, or did God just decide at random to kill them as a warning to the rest of us? If God is that pissed at President Obama why doesn't he just kill him directly?
I'm afraid your logic makes no sense to me. I really don't think God works that way since good people often have bad things happen to them and evil people often prosper from their deeds.
If God hands out punishments to people who do things he doesn't like, he sure does it in a random and confusing way.

Ghoti God does not hand out punishments directly or by decsion. He just moves His spirit away and lifts His protection from the land of the people who go against Israel. Things do not happen as we see them directly but will happen at some time as God removes His protection. The bible says those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed..it doesn't give time frames for results. Maybe it is a type of thing that if you play with knives long enough you will eventually get cut, I don't know exactly what God means by those scriptures but am sure He does.

All of Israel belongs to Israel accordng to the bible and it is laid out very plainly what lands are theirs. The bible also puts a curse on who would split up Israel. Course those who discredit the bible will never see or agree.

Excuse me, but you ARE DIRECTLY SAYIING IN THIS ENTIRE THREAD that the US is being punished with bad weather because we don't support Israel enough. The Arab nations that want to destroy Israel seem to have been blessed by having most of the world's oil supply and I don't hear much about them having any bad weather lately.
God's favor or lack thereof doesn't seem to work very well as behavior modification.

Well the Arabs are blessed with the majority of scabland and desert in the world with ferocious sandstorms and atrocious heat and frigid winters, no pasture lands as such, just scrub grass and not a lot of water, and I think their oil is slowly dropping in production from what I hear. The Arabs will get their punishment the moment they attack Israel. We are supposed to be friends of Israel and a support to them but we have definately moved away from that position. Yes I think America has fallen from gods favor this last century. Thiis is justwhat I think and I am not arguing with anyone about it. We all have views.

I know you'll go on believing that no matter what anyone says, but there's zero real evidence supporting it. There have ALWAYS been bad weather and natural disasters going on somewhere, but before there were 24 hour news channels we just didn't hear about most of them.
If there was any credence to your "God punishes those who don't support Israel" theory then it would be reasonable to expect him to start with those who give the LEAST support first, not the one country in the world that gives them the MOST support.
If the US ever withdrew our support and foreign aid from Israel the Arabs would over-run them in a matter of weeks

ExceptIsrael,when they began returning they reclaimed the desertthat had become Israel and turned it into a green breadbasket country full of fruit. The palestinians living there previously could do nothing wth it and et it die.Now as they say it is blossoming lke a rose because God s blessing Israel. It is alright with me to put up a blockade to stop weapons from getting to their enemies. The shipswereforewarned of the blockade and they went in anyway. When Russia triedshippingin missiles to Cuba the president, Kennedy stopped them and we would have fought if they hadn't turned back. The Arabs are intenton wiping Israel off the face of the earth..they have a right to defend themselves tiny little country that they are, if Godwas not backng them they wouldn't be here today and would have gone bye bye at the very first day of the country's existance. The Arabs were ready to do them in then and n 1967 Egypt was celebrating because they were ready to attack Israel and Israel bombed them out and destroyed all their aircraft..God is with them.

The decision to put up a blockade to protectJewish citizens is a political/military decision of Israel as is the deciision of Palestinans to attempt to overrun the blockade.They are cousins and God has obliigations to both of them, but when iit comes down to out and out attack of srael, God will protect Israel first. When it envolves only a few of each side I think He lets them settle it themselves. Just my opinion. He told Abraham that Ishmael would be the father of a numberless nation of his people, but that the covenant of God would only go to Isaac and not Ishmael. God said He would bless Ishmael and his nations and He has in many ways. The covenant between God and the Jews has given the son of God to the world for salvation. The Jews are under the original covenant and have a different relationship with God than everyone else. Eventually they will be brought into the fold with all others..another in my opinion. Also in my opiinion God needs to settle this all very soon because it is moving towards a day of total anhilation of mankind through nuclear war.

Paulwa, ya gotta remember that the Bible was wrtten by ancient Jewish people, so it's hardly any surprise that they would claim to be God's chosen people. Funny that none of the holy books written by other cultures share that opinion of Israel. They all tend to think God looks more favorably on them than other folks.
Hanging all your faith on just one ancient book and thinking it tells you everything you ever need to know about God just seems terribly shallow and limiting IMO.

Your adherence to the old covenant and Jews as the chosen people is how you foster anti-semitism. Consider adapting your viewpoint to embace the acceptance of the old and new covenants which better allows for acceptance of Judahism AND Christianity!!!

Being a Christian I am full aware of the new covenant between Jesus Christ and his disciples, Greg. There are two covenants at the moment that I know of, old testament and new testament.
Ghoti, God's spirit guides christians as to the veritabilty of the bible as compared to other religious works. Choices are a personal decision guided by mans spirit and Gods'.
