I have a suprapubic and use a 18fr foley catheter. I think certain types or brands of foley catheters caused more bladder irritation and therefore more leg spasms.

Has anyone else noticed this and if so, have you found a brand or type that causes the least irritation and spasms?

I tend to use silicon coated latex because it seemed to me that silicone foleys disconnect from the leg bag too easily - the tube disconnects accidentally.

I have the same issue. For me it's the tip of the cath. Some are more rigid/hard, and they cause more spasms. I use these

Cheap and soft tip.
