Mesa, AZ. Our early fall is like your spring so cold weather stuff does well like lettuce, herbs, etc.
Our early spring is like your early summer. Tomatoes, squash,
corn, etc. With summer shade they will last longer. I've had pepper plants go two years producing.

I'm in SE-OH (now) its a lot warmer than cowhampshire.
I'll be lucky to get tomatoes out of doors by May 15 :-(

A possibly overlooked forum on growing mushrooms:

They like to ridge run looking for mushrooms, but also propagate them for culinary use.

Startin to recieve seed catalogs, hard to think about diggin in th dirt when it's 18 nites and 30s for day here in the O'zarks, but that will pass like bad gas.

Ya, Shumway still lists white wonder cuke and autumn king carrot. I had'ta order both.

I set up a wintersown tote for tomato a couple days ago. Dug out the dormant stratifying seeds & saplings. Spring fever is rampant.

Arizona- just planted tomatoes and peppers today after harvesting
15 honeydew mellons. Lettuce tomorrow.
