About Josie Byzek

As managing editor of New Mobility and social media manager, it’s a big part of my job to track who’s who and what’s next in the disability community. Also, to know what is working for you, and what you’d like to see covered or improved in New Mobility. How do we look? Are our stories helpful and meaningful? What would you like to see us cover next? I’d love to hear from you. My email is JByzek@Unitedspinal.org. I live with my family in Harrisburg, Pa., mere blocks away from the Susquehanna River, on which I love to fish, kayak, canoe or just sit on a rock and watch the sun go down. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998, after years of trekking from one doctor after another to figure out what was going on with my body. But I’ve been involved in our community professionally since 1990, when I first got a job answering phones at the center for independent living in Pittsburgh.
