Man with MD Sues Time Warner

Time Warner Entertainment and several other companies were served with two separate lawsuits June 12 by a man with muscular dystrophy saying he was denied access to tapings of shows produced by the company.

Emmanuel Ramirez of La Puente, Calif., a wheelchair user, said in one suit that he tried to order tickets to an October 2011 taping of Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers, but was told that the taping facility was not wheelchair accessible. In the second suit, Ramirez said that he attempted to attend a taping of Conan in February 2011, but that the shuttles transporting audience members from the parking lot to the studio were not wheelchair-accessible.

In addition to Time Warner, the suits also name Warner Brothers Entertainment, Warner Brothers Television Distribution, ANE Productions and Team Coco Digital.
